 Russellville Lawn and Landscaping begin in 2002. With over 18 employees and 6 crews, they promise ontime, dependable, and 100% guaranteed services. Recently, Kyle and Kelli Lamberson acquired Green Lawn of Arkansas-positioning their company as the local experts in landscaping and lawn fertilization. Q: How did you become involved in landscaping, lighting, and lawn care? I have always enjoyed working outside and making things look better. While growing up I would take on odd jobs building shrub beds for family members or mowing the neighbor's yard for $10. Even as a kid, I would always play in the dirt and come home covered in it.
Q: When and why did you decide to add Christmas lighting to your business? Christmas lighting is so different from mowing and landscaping. It gives us a break from what we do all summer and it's a nice compliment to what we do the rest of the year because it comes at a natural slow time for lawn maintenance. As I said before, I like making things look better. People get so excited when we light their house or business. I still take the family out every year and look at our work. It's a fun but busy time of the year.
Q: What is the average price range for adding lights? The first year you purchase the material, but next year your cost is just the labor of putting them up and taking them down. An average house is difficult because some people want a little and some request a larger amount of lights. It can cost about $100-$200 to install, depending on the amount of lights the customer wants. Taking them down usually runs about half of that price. The material costs just depends on what the client wants.
Q: Which locally-owned businesses have you already shopped for Christmas? Mullen Team Sports. Jim takes care of me. Kelli does most of the shopping but I frequent A-1 Pawn this time of year as well as Wilkens Brothers
Q: This magazine is viewable online 24 hours a day. The site is positioned in front of more than 150,000 potential visitors each month. For our tourism audience, what do recommend for a fun weekend idea in the River Valley area? Looking at Christmas lights! of course. I also recommend going to the annual Christmas parade. Does anyone go around door to door singing Christmas carols anymore? When it warms up outside, I love taking the family camping and going out on the lake. We are so blessed to live close to so many good lakes and camping areas.
